    Default Rafalski Replacement?

I dealt the wrong Red Wing

Last season when Lidstrom was tearing it up, I traded him to a contender for Subban + OEL. The next day, Subban turns it on and finishes the year strong. The old Subban owner is a huge Habs fan and really wants Subban back now.

Rafalski retires. Lidstrom doesn't. Now I'm stuck having to fill one of my D spots on the fly.

Current Offer from the Old Subban owner:

    I Give:
    Subban

    I Get:
    Goligoski
    Lidstrom

Having Lidstrom on my team next year (at least) is certainly attractive...
But Subban is a really fun player to own - especially in a keeper!

how close are Goligoski and Subban? *POINTS ONLY*
    within 10 points?

I'd probably hang onto Subban simply because he's the best player in the deal (in a keeper fantasy league I mean, obviously in real life there is no comparison to Nik Lidstrom ). And if the other guy is a Habs fan then he'll pay more than that, I would milk him hard if he's a big Subban fan.

In terms of adding a d-man, maybe shop around for bounceback players...Kaberle would be a good bet, he was absolutely dismal after the trade and his owner probably still has that bad taste in his mouth. Edler might be another good option, coming off an injury with Ehrhoff now outta the picture he might be a little under the radar

I hear you man. I'm gunning for next year with a pretty good shot at it I think. Decided to pull the trigger and got him to throw a 3rd round pick in to sweeten the pot too. I might regret it in year or two - or tomorrow haha - but hey, gotta role the dice every now then.

Posted a similar thread the other day:

    Thanks man
