Perreault Little Armia as a 3rd/4th line makes us soooooooo much stronger.. Perreault is so tenacious!! Armia is a possession beast when he has the puck down low.. And Brian Little, well he has remained underrated his entire career..

Yep, Perreault is built for playoff hockey, like Kunitz.

    Clearing cap space rambling...

Mason and Copp to Vancouver for Nilsson, Vancouver retains 50% of Nilsson's $2.5m salary (net cap space gain: $3.85m)
Kulikov to anywhere for a bag of pucks even giving a mid-round pick or Petan for a lower pick to someone to clear space (net cap space gain : $4.3m)

And if need be move Perreault for same (but would rather keep him one more season...)

I like Copp but he's signed for $1m this year and that could come in handy...

Apparently the Jets and Trouba are $3M apart. The Jets have Trouba at $4M, while Trouba sees himself at $7M. They're both out to lunch. I know how negotiating works, but this just seems so silly. Hope they ink something long-term, but who knows.

    I can see a 5X 5.5 contract here.

They have until Friday to sign or go to arbitration. I dont think either side wants that to happen. I can see them landing on a long-term deal around $5.5M per.

It's part of the arbitration strategy also.

When the the third party comes in they are going to ask each side how they value each other, which is going to affect the arbitrators decision.

Can't negotiate with a team and ask for 6 and then tell the arbitrator you want 7.

Anyways, I agree with the rest here, Parayko's contract is a great comparison.

I don't think he feels nearly the same way as he did a year or two ago. I think he genuinely had fun this year, and I also think that Morrissey is a dream to play with. That said, if Chevy can replace Trouba, I'd be fine with it. Trouba's very good, but probably not as good as he thinks, and he misses 20+ games per season.

I don't think so. That's a team that can win now and will win for a few years yet. He'd be a fool to leave if it was over a total of 5M over the life of this contract. When he's retired, he will regret taking a few extra bucks (relatively of course) in exchange for a real chance at winning.

is he still playing on his off-side? wasn't that he major issue originally? That and not getting the PP opportunities he would probably like to have. This is a good one to follow
