    Some news today-

Jets sign defensemen Julian Melchiori to an entry level deal.

Melchiori was a Thrashers draft pick back in 2010- in the third round.

From what I've heard from Oshawa Generals fans, he was a great pick up for them.

Okay, I'm officially jumping on the bandwagon.

I never thought this team could make the playoffs, but apparently they might.

They really are team-minded, and really fracking fast. Wheeler, Little, even Stapleton, are really quick skaters. They embarassed the Capitals tonight.

4-on-4 (offsettings to Brouwer and I forget who), late in the game, the Jets just dominated. They're a fast, co-ordinated team.

These jokers might actually make the playoffs. I'll be there, amazed.

They are a solid and fun team to watch, and I really hope they make the playoffs, would be such a nice payback for loyal and devoted fans who have been hockey-starved for so many years.

The odds are probably against them, simply because they play so many of their remaining games (7 of 11) on the road, and we saw last week how they just didn't have it to win against Calgary and Vancouver on the road despite valiant efforts. They absolutely must beat the Canes at home tomorrow, and then oh what a difficult road trip, Capitals, Pens and Preds; that stretch will be so important, to come out with say 3 points minimum, because then they have 3 of their last 7 at home and the 4 road games are winnable (Lightning, Canes, Panthers, Isles).

    Go Jets!

    Jets lose 8-4; recap http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...burgh-penguins

Not much more to say here, fantasy wise. Jets just ran into the best team in hockey.

Little reached over 20 goals with his pair tonight.

The loss tonight against Ottawa will end the Jets hopes for good. Not mathematically speaking, but realistically speaking nevertheless.

Now it's still time for them to get back into the lottery, surprisingly enough.

It was an entertaining game to watch tonight. It wasn't pretty, very sloppy and definitely not playoff hockey, but it sure was fun.

If you are throwing in the towel, I just wanted to say congratulations to the Winnipeg Jets. You fans are wildly considered to be the best IMO, and once they fix your travel schedule (hopefully in 2013-14), maybe your road losses will be more balanced with your great home record.

    Thanks, notch.

It was a good season. Playoffs are a thing of the past. Time to shift our focus.

Actually, I have an article I'm about to publish on why we need to focus on the lottery.

New article. The Jets need to shift focus to becoming a potential lottery team.

Hey Atlanta, I have E.Kane in my first team and he's on the bubble for keepers. What are you thinking he'll do next season? He was flat out awesome before his concussion-like symptoms. So what are you projecting?

Kane is having a stout third season. He is one goal away from 30-- which should be achieved easily since he still has six games remaining. Break it down even further for fantasy purposes. Kane also has 53 points, is a +10, and is closing in on 300 shots on goal. He even has 47 penalty minutes.

    That's great for fantasy purposes. He's a multi-category producer.

    Fantasy purposes aside...

I think Kane is only bound to top his production next season. He's set new career highs in all three of his season. And as you mentioned, he played through concussion-like symptoms and even missed eight games due to those symptoms.

Next season he'll grow more and become an even better complete player. I have him pegged at 40 goal potential, and he could very well be that player next season.

So you're telling me I need to keep him, ha ha. Okay. I have to see what to do about this now.

I know, I'm a Jets fan, but I'm a realist fan. He's the Jet that I'm highest on.

If you were asking about, say Burmistrov, I wouldn't advise you to keep him.

You're asking me about Kane though.

I don't think anyone could convince me to not keep him. He's a beast who hasn't even been unleashed yet... and he's about to hit 30 goals.

Jets fall to Rangers, lottery pick becoming more and more likely.

Five game left on the schedule, four of them on the road.

Three of those games are against the Islanders, Lightning, and Hurricanes-- three teams who are currently behind the Jets in points.

Embrace it. A lottery pick would be the best bet.
