3 goals and 3 assists in 3 games for Scheifele. Pretty impressive in my books. Still could use the extra year in Barrie but he's making it hard for them.

He looked tentative and nervous against Carolina (although the Jets were sporting a pretty low grade team, and everyone was struggling against Staal, Skinner, Ward, et al), but today he looked good. He had jump, he didn't shy away from contact, he was very sound defensively, and he made things happen offensively. He looks great with the puck on his stick, and his game away from the puck seems to be pretty solid, too. Honestly, I think he looks better than Burmistrov out there, but maybe that's not fair.
An excellent read from Illegal Curve. http://www.dobberhockey.com/index.ph...104968&page=17
Sorry, screwed that up. The link was actually --> http://illegalcurve.com/2011/09/27/p...ng-day-roster/
Scheifele playing with Kane on his wing tonight according to TSN before game time. Should be interesting playing with an actual winger...

I personally think Burmistrov is miscast as a top line player. He has offensive skill, don't get me wrong, but I think his defensive acuity will put him in a more 2-way role, keeping him from hitting peak offensive numbers.
Once again I failed to see a preseason game. NHL Network replayed it at the wrong time for me so I could only view highlights.
Kane looked great in the highlights, it looked like he was getting open all game long. I think he and Scheifele played very well together. Schiefele is making a great case to stay up with the big club.
I do believe Schiefele will develop to be the long-term #1 center. Burmistrov is a very good player, but he looks like he will be more of a factor as a 2-way center. He plays a great defensive game.
Blake Wheeler scored a nice goal last night, and Kane went hard to the net to score his goal. Kane also added an empty netter.
Hopefully I can catch the next preseason game. If not, the season is only 10 days away!

Is there a final decision yet on what players will wear the 'A'? Kane wore one last night. And does anyone know why they keep wearing the white jerseys instead of blue?

Found it interesting that Noel put Bogosian out on RW for a shift at the end of the game tonight. I doubt much will come of that, but it was a surprise.
I'm pretty sure Bogosian played forward as well as defense in the OHL. He was a forward converted to defense, but I don't remember if the conversion took place in the OHL or before it. The Thrashers played him at forward in a game before.
I'm watching the replay of last night's game on NHL Network. I love the Ladd-Little-Wheeler line. They clicked all last year, and all preseason this year.
I've been very impressed with Paul Postma all preseason long. He looks different. He definitely didn't play with this much confidence last year.
Scheifele continues to impress. The question is, do we rush him? I'm 50/50 about it.

Tim Stapleton placed on waivers. Hopefully someone claims him and takes him off our hands.

Anyone seen much of Bryan Little in the preseason? How's he looking?
