I think you'll be happy with your selection of the King at 16. You can never go bad with having a stud G in a format like this. If I was drafting at your spot I personally would have gone with Getz as he's a multi-cat beast and I still consider him VERY good value at 16 (he went 20!). Others I would have considered are Staal and Tavares but again I think you'll be very pleased with The King. He's flat out produces in leagues like this and his 65-70 starts a year is brilliant.
    10-team Auction League, $160 team salary, weekly H2H, start: 6F, 4D, 1G and 5 Bench

    Scoring structure: (F : 1pt G / 1pt A / 0.15pts SOG / 0.15pts Hits / 0.15pts BlkS), (G : 5 pts W / 3 pts SO / 0.01 pts Saves)

    Forwards : Ovechkin ($43), Kessel ($20), Benn ($7), Spezza ($13), Brown ($7), Marchand ($13), Landeskog ($3), Elias ($1), Plekanec ($1),

    Defenses : Letang ($26), Visnovsky ($1), Bieksa ($1), Faulk ($2) Ehrhoff ($2)

    Goalies : Holtby ($7), Nabokov ($2)

I passed on some incredibly talented forwards and D to do it though.

I am interested to see how this league works. It's my first year in a points breakdown like this one so everything is a calculated guess.

Hey Tys you made it to Dobberhockey and signed up..good on ya, welcome aboard.

You did fine taking Lundy when you did. It will work out great for ya. I passed early on taking a goalie. More than one way to skin a cat my friend.

I might be willing to trade you Crawford for Duchesne
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

personally i feel the oilers have the deepest and best team out there, and the one team that could end up finishing in the yakupov sweepstakes looks like the hawks jk

Those Thrashers are looking pretty good- a solid top 6. (Also 7th round pick was my first non-forward- Andrej Meszaros)

It's starting to get slim pickings, and I still don't have a goalie- so I might have to do some trading or hope to get lucky and pickup someone who slides into a starting role.

There are still some quality forwards out there, and that makes it so hard to pick a G or a D over them.

I like NYI, VAN, MTL and SJS for overall depth. (Given that Crawford and Neuvirth are official starters)

Definitely any team in this group can be wild cards such as ATL (Top Heavy) etc...

I like something from every team and looks like good drafting all around. Great job guys!

its too early to pick a winner...anyone can have a good team when pretty much any player available is a star. i'll give my predictions once the draft is done...after all, what separates the best GM's from the rest is how they draft in the later rounds. good luck guys!

VAN is far and away my favorite team I think. Some of the other ones I'll look at 3-4 players and be like sick team, then see the last couple and be like... what?

Like Shake's team (no offense buddy, not trying to be critical):

I see Duchene, E Kane, Toews and I'm like sick picks. And then I see Okposo and I'm like okay, big bounceback season... but then Kulikov and Johnson? Looking at who was taken at D I think there was probably way better options. Just IMO though!

the later rounds are going to be interesting,

with 75 games as the cut off for prospects, the prospect draft is very deep.

    The leafs are looking good!!

Give me the Jets by a landslide so far! Oh the wonders I could do with that core...hahaha. I thought taking Skinner that early was a bit of a stretch but the overal core looks by far and away the best so far. I like all of his guys next year. I likely would have taken a G instead of Skinner but having Brodeur for next year is actually quite decent. Personally I would have debated between Bryz, Ward OR Datsyuk if I really wanted another elite F in that spot. Skinner would have never cross my mind in that spot. I said this in a previous post but Getz should have never fallen that much.

I guess my second pick is Hartford, great D coupled with Dats and Kesler - can't complain. I'm not a huge fan of TT as the future is definitely Rask, but like Brodeur he's a good plug for a year or maybe even two.

Diamondback - I'll chime in on your team seeing as you were seeking this info. Overall I think you stand in the higher middle of the of the pack. I like Carter and your D but I'm not overly fond of Marchand (he's ok) and Backstrom (only because of his age though - he's a good starter). You'll benefit from having your D develop faster than most in the NHL and that should make you competitive if the rest of the draft goes well. Good luck!
