Default [OHL Hockey Development Combine] Invites Announced

Normally I would publish this under the Weekly Ramblings but I will likely follow up with the results of this combine and any other associated articles. Everything related to the combine will be posted here

The Combine is scheduled for this weekend April 2-3. Full Details here

What is the Combine all about?
The program offers 24 goaltenders and 60 skaters the opportunity to showcase themselves both on and off the ice to OHL member team personnel. The on-ice testing will be conducted using components of the Hockey Canada National Skills Standards and Testing Program, with goaltender sessions led by former NHLer and current Peterborough Petes and Team Canada Goaltending Consultant Ron Tugnutt. Off-ice testing is conducted by Mark Fitzgerald, Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Toronto Marlies and the Oshawa Generals. The results will be distributed to every OHL Member Team General Manager to assist in their evaluation for the 2011 OHL Priority Selection to be held on May 7, 2011
What is the History and Who are the Graduates of the Event?
The 2011 event marks the fourth straight year that the OHL has hosted a skills development day for players and goaltenders in advance of the OHL Priority Selection. Last season was the first in collaboration with Hockey Canada and powered by Under Armour and featured 22 players selected in the first two rounds of the Priority Selection including Sean Monahan of the Ottawa 67’s. Other past participants include 2010 first round NHL Entry Draft pick Mark Visentin of the Niagara IceDogs, and top 2011 NHL Entry Draft prospects Ryan Murphy of the Kitchener Rangers, Matt Puempel of the Peterborough Petes, and Lucas Lessio of the Oshawa Generals.
Which OHL draft eligible players will be participating at this years'
    event?

In a dream world I'm hoping Belleville can land both Ekblad and Subban, mind you I'm quite sure Jordan will be a Bull based on their previous luck with his brothers...

Scott vankoughnett of OpenIceHockey had the following to say regaring some of the "favourites" for the upcoming OHL draft. Here are some results from the combine:

"Most impressive showing at Combine goes to Adam Bateman. He was the overall leader in on-ice events and 6th overall off."

    "Ekblad ranked 15th overall off-ice and 5th among D. Finished 1st in the wingate and 7th overall on-ice and 4th among D"

    "Bo Horvat was 18th overall on ice and 21st off-ice, Subban 5th on-ice and 32nd off-ice"

"Ritchie, Nurse, Domi, Baptiste, Cianfrone, Dempsey all weren't there. All of the top Americans weren't there due to their nationals"
