Chris Wagner seems to be playing a much bigger role than he did in Anaheim last season. He's actually been a decent flier in a multi cat league.

    3 g, 3 a, 29 SOG and 50 hits over the last month (14 games).

Don Sweeney indicates that David Backes isn’t going anywhere when asked about his future with the Bruins. Sounds like they envision him as a bottom-6/fourth line guy moving forward

This tweet about sums it up.

Means the 14.3 they have will be dispersed mainly between McAvoy, Carlo and Heinen. Goodbye Mojo. Goodbye hopes of an improvement to the top six from outside the organization. Here's hoping someone like Bjork, Frederic, Steen, Studnicka or Cehlarik step up.

I'm puzzled about keeping Backes. If he's not able to help in game 7 and he has such a big cap hit, what's the point? Seems to be hindering the team's potential to improve...

Only 300k in savings if they bought him out this year...

Maybe swap him with Ladd in NYI... & sail him to Robidas Island.

better structured than Lucic, Ladd or Eriksson... not that that is much of a consolation.

YES , the bonus money due Backes over the next 2 seasons doesn't make a buyout worth it , a trade with some incentive looks more likely. As much as i hate to see it end that way for Backes , opening up that cap space would help signing MaJo.
On June 30th Backes NMC expires so a trade is possible.

Bruins are bringing Steven Kampfer back for 2 years at $800K/year. Good depth signing for sure. He filled in well when the D got beat up late in the playoffs

Three more years of #CliffyHockey. #NHLBruins have agreed to terms on a three-year extension with Connor Clifton worth $3 million total. He has one year left at $725k, extension can be papered as soon as today.
This makes me happy! Cliffy is going to be a steal by the time this deal is up

I can definitely agree with that. Especially with Chara probably only having one year left.

Aciarri is gone to Florida... so much for our Merlot Line 2.0 . Not as heartbreaking as when Shawn Thornton took the same path though. Still have Kuraly/Wagner/Nordstrom though which should be pretty solid

Definitely a great depth signing for the Bruins. Ritchie will look great on the third line.

Not sure what Ritchie will offer. He's been playing at a fourth-line level the past two years and Dallas doesn't exactly offer stiff competition in their lineup.
