How about "Dobber's Dozen"

Create a forum dedicated to 12 respected posters who can all get called up to the minors.

Each one of these 12 writes an article for each month of the year, with the potential to get called up on a more regular basis.

If one of the dozen loses interest, I'm sure there would be plenty of guys who could step in.

There is a ton of talent on these forums. Why not celebrate it.

The Stanley Bairns

I like using Stanley since the name predates the NHL (and the NHA) so it's respectful and represents all professional hockey in Canada.

Bairns basically means "a child of any age and any gender"... which embodies the concept of the minors but doesn't exclude anyone. I also like the potential correlation to Lord Stanley's own children who contributed to developing the first hockey leagues in Ontario. (much like these writers will contribute to one of the most passionate hockey forums on the planet).

The origin of the word Bairn also ties back to the word Barn, which feeds into the idea of farm teams... and it's a bit of an unusual word that can grow on you.

Also, for the record, my son prefers The Stanley Pups.. but he's not a hockey fan, so I'm discounting his opinion entirely.

The obvious reason for the role that trading plays in fantasy hockey. The more subtle reason is the reference to players being called up "for a cup of coffee" to the NHL.

Kind of a play on TFC (soccer theme). I think everyone knows the term up and comers, plus you can add the date on the bottom, an appendix to the guides and acronyms are a good way of limiting typing. "It is in the UNC section".

I tried to do a logo, but my artistic talent is very limited, but I actually think it looked pretty good. Maybe someone with talent can give it a shot.

I basically took the Dobber logo on the left, UNC in the Dobber blue using fraternity type letters and then "Up and Comers" below. Think about the North Carolina logo on a black background.

THE UNC also implies the university so "not graduated" or "still in school".
