Well, I have really been enjoying the Dark Tower series. I remembered next to nothing from what I read before. That is not unusual as I dont remember the 90s at all. I'm onto the Waste Lands now and the trio has just started their trek along "the beam" toward the tower. Highly entertaining reading.

That's good to hear. Someday I may reread them again (have read it twice so far), but I'll wait until after the film comes out and see how that goes, and if any new ones are planned.

I really like the dark tower series, but I do think it is at its best in the first 4 books.

Didn't want to read through 13 pages to find out but has anyone read The Mist? They are making a TV show and are filming a bunch of it in the town I live in. It's been kind of cool to walk by the sets every night and see the fog machines set up and stuff.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

I've read the novella and loved it. I thought the film was ok, but a few bits I wasn't happy with. Not sure why they are making a series out of it, though. I'm guessing (haven't checked) that the series will be based on the story, but will have a lot of new material? There's only so much they can expand the current story.

Under the Dome. I don't think anything more needs to be said.

Yep, totally agree and that immediately came to mind when I posted it. They could've made Under the Dome a solid, short series (say 4-6 episodes since it's a long novel) but they dragged it out and I stopped watching after season one. I fear that something like this could happen to the Mist. Especially, as it's just a novella.

Thanks guys, that's too bad but hopefully they don't drag it out too long. I plan to watch to at least see the locations since that will be kind of cool. It's strange walking by certain buildings in my town that are being used and seeing signs up that say "Bridgeville Police Dept" or the like for the fake town.

    Thanks for sharing.

I've gone through a variety of emotions while anticipating this film coming out next year. I'm trying to keep an open mind and I'm cautiously optimistic on how it could turn out.

Only a few months to go...

My strategy is to expect it to be complete shit. Then... if (when?) its mediocre... I'm pleased.

I've just started Song for Susannah. I want to have the series finished before the movie is released. Only SfS and then Dark Tower finale left. so it should be good timing. I usually read on the bus on the way to work, so its not huge chunks that I am finishing every day.

I'm pretty stoked about getting to the end of this series. Its been a great ride. I say stoked, but I do wish there was 8 more books after these ones. Every moment of reading them has been enjoyable.
