try using secure (invite only) sites with nothing but scene releases. no need for antivirus then.

also, that last sentence is nothing but uninformed bs. and norton is the biggest piece of bloatware antivirus on the market. cheers!

I've actually heard that Norton increases your chance of getting a virus.

Try wearing a condom next time you 'download' it.

OK, new post - get this...
My work computer just got infected by a virus on Tuesday. What a brutal pain.
Boot w/F8 in safe mode still brought up blue screen.
I got back in by booting w/F12 & original windows disk.
Today (Thursday) at a random time (2:20pm), a new anti-virus software on my computer alerted me to some "new viruses" and said "click here to fix". I'm not computer savvy, but I know when to not click. So I got the IT guy.

Our IT guy said that one of the new ways of getting these "fake anti-virus" softwares (that's what I have, it shows up as two new "shield icons" in my lower right screen tray) is through banner ads. He said that hackers are paying for banner advertising and pretending to be a major company. He said that "mom and pop" websites are often the biggest victims. They accept the banner ad - and then the ad reroutes the web surfer to a website where the software is downloaded to their computer. Once loaded, it waits for a certain time and then shows up as "virus detected".

I work for a very small company myself (10 people) & our anti-virus software is probably pretty poor. Any chance that any of the Dobber banners are "fakes"? I only visit about 4 or 5 websites at work: Dobber, ESPN, USA Today Fantasy Hockey, Hotmail, and my bank & personal sites.

Thoughts?

I'm having issues on my home computer, as well. My office has too many firewalls etc...

Everytime I log onto Dobber or NHL.com I get this virus auto-scan pop up or I'm automatically re-routed to a different site.

My initial scans detected 4 trojans (using superantispyware) and one other malware (using spybot).

All was quarantined, but I'm still having the same issue and subsequent scans have detected nothing.

I'm at a loss....

Been having similar problems , partly my anti virus and partly spammers , hackers , etc.
I do believe there are issues with this site but , they are not the fault of Dobber , that said I hope Dobber can see about any changes on his end that would help many of us on this end.Thanks.
