    Default Playoff Goalie Conundrum

Before the first puck drop on Saturday, I need to choose my goaltender for the entire playoff run. I have three playoff goalies and one tough decision. Roto categories: Wins, GAA, Saves. Do I go with:

Darcy Kuemper ARZ (is Raanta a concern? Preds are a pretty decent team)
Elvis Merzlikins CBJ (will he be the starter? Is Toronto going to light up the BJ's?)
Matt Murray PIT (is Jarry a concern?)

I love that I have choices, but this reminds me of my drive home...three lanes of traffic and I inevitably choose the slowest moving lane. Any advice out there? Where are my goalie whisperers?

I think Murray and his cups get first crack for Pittsburgh. I think they're also the most likely of those three teams to make it out of the first round.

    Ugh, tough one.

My gut is saying go with Elvis. I really like CBJ for a solid playoff run (sorry Leafs fans). They are just that type of team that could do it. Torts style of play from his team is built for playoffs. They are going to grind the crap out of every team they face, rub their nose in it and then wipe off the dust and walk on. That's just my thoughts but I know a lot don't agree with me. We'll see I guess.

My head is saying go with Murray but to be honest, I am not sure he's even going to be the starter in Pittsburgh.

I voted for Elvis but I dont envy your position my friend.

    I voted Murray.

I think that he gets the first game. And i think Penguins go on to beat Montreal easily so if he does struggle it wont be until after the qualifying round when they face a better team....

And I don't think Arizona or Columbus make it out of the first round.

Kuemper is a non-factor given how little chance i give Arizona to win a game.

Columbus is in a real toss-up with the Leafs.

I like Pittsburgh to get by Montreal easily and are a coin-flip in round 2. I think Murray gets first crack after a 4-month lay-off. Murray for me.

I voted for Matt Murray. His playoff track record is much better than any of the other goalies listed. I also think Pittsburgh has the best chance of a lengthy playoff run.

If Bondon comes here and says he would have gone with Murray as well, you're screwed.

I'm sorry if I added a late monkey wrench by picking Elvis, but man I am so tired of thinking Torts doesn't have sh_t and then he rolls top tier teams like a hot knife through butta. Plus, Murray just seems too shaky for me, and with the round-robin, we will see Pitt at least try Jarry & possibly need Jarry.

I am so going to regret it if CBJ takes out the Leafs. I honestly like CBJ, but that damn Toronto team is so stacked with offensive studs and if Andersen plays well, I think at least in the opening round, the Leafs should win. Shame on me if they don't!
