    Default Bishop or Jones

    Hi All,

Yearly draft coming up for my multicat roto league. I have picks 1 and 5. Im going for the win.

I need to get a goalie to go with Gibson (I also have Vaiselevsky but cant rely on starts) Goalie Stats are Win, Save%, GAA and SHO.

Goalies available - Bishop and Jones.

Skaters available - P Kane, Tavares, Seguin, Pavelski, Tarasenko.

So I can take a goalie first and then rest assured Ill get a good skater next pick or I can take my pick of the skaters and take whichever goalie makes it to pick 5. (im 99% sure one will based on the rosters of the teams above me)

Does one warrant the first pick? Im leaning Bishop as he was #1 ranked last season

    Thanks

I think Bishop is your best bet. You have Vas as the handcuff.
I have another league where I had a similar problem. Took Jones because Vas was owned elsewhere.

I'd take Bishop too, especially with the handcuff. That way if Bishop does get traded, you'll still have Vas earning starts and wins.

Yeah, I'm a big Jones fan, but it's tough to ignore Bishop, period. All the more so with the handcuff.

Bishop with pick #1, and then it's done.

I'm all for offense first in drafts, but I agree with others here... take Bishop 1st and then one of those top forwards with 5th.

Bishop... last thing you would want is Jones and Bishop to go before your pick - unlikely but possible and would potentially screw you

    Draft tonight (Australia time)

Still torn. I can get P Kane 1st and then Jones. Or Bishop first and then Seguin/Tarasenko

Bishop worries me because he could be traded any day. Jones worries me as he may been carried along by the aging Sharks team last year.

    Any last minute advice?

Bishop for me. Not only will you have the handcuff, TB is going to do better than SJ this year. Don't worry about a trade - wherever he goes it will be to a contender (like DAL).

The answer is still Bishop at #1. You have the handcuff, and if there is a trade from depth in Tampa - you just increased the # of starting goalies you have.

Another vote for Bishop. Having the handcuff is a big factor. He's also more proven than Jones and Tampa is a stronger team (San Jose is great but they are relying on a couple of aging stars and who knows when they begin to hit the wall).
