    Default Winnipeg's crease?

Who will win this job? I can't believe in Pavs anymore... I don't see Hutchinson as a long-term solution. Can Hellebuyck steal the job from day 1???

Pavelec was solid last year and still have the big contract. I'd go with him. Hellebuyck is the only one with a 2 way contract so AHL unless a trade happen.

The crease is definitely Pavelec's to start.

Helleybuyck will more than likely be gaining experience in the AHL.

For now, it is Pavelec 1A and Hutchinson 1B. Depends on their play. I expect a short leash for Pavelec. I am not expecting Hellbuyck to be relevant this season.

Not sure how your first two statements lead to Hellebuyck stealing the job from day 1. Pavs and Hutch are not long-term solutions but they'll be the duo to start the year.

Pave is the “starter”, but we will see who actually becomes the starter pretty early in the season. I think we will see a 60/40 split (towards pave) and see it possibly shift to that ratio to hutch if all ends well. I don’t see either of them getting a 70/30 ratio (57GS/25GS)

I think this is very much up in the air. I do agree with above that it will not play out quickly. Both Pavelec and Hutchison were good and bad at times last year. Hellebuyck had a good AHL season and stole the job at the world championships for team USA but still doesn't have NHL experience. The contract will mean Pavelec he will get first chances and the longest leash but if he plays poorly it is not like it will be the first time the team lost faith in him. After a point, they will just go with whoever is helping them win. Could be Hutchison or Hellebuyck or they could make a trade. I think the team feels they are good enough to compete so I don't think they will let poor goaltending go unaddressed for long.

I think they will have another platoon year with Pavelec getting a few extra starts. Unless a major injury happens to either goalie, I think Hellebuyck spends the year in the AHL and all depending on his performance, he gets a crack at the team the following season.

I agree - Pavelec will no doubt star this coming year, but, like you, I don't have much faith in him. I'd steer clear of WPG goalies at all costs, unless you need a good third option, or someone that should at least play a decent amount to games to bulk up your stats. In that case, go with Pav.
