Bernier v Varlamov

Varlamov owner is out of contention this year and looking to acquire picks. I'm fighting for a playoff spot. Won 5 of the last 8 H2H matchups.

Thoughts on offering the following:

Give Bernier and a 9th round pick… Receive Varlamov and a 12th round pick.

I think Varlamov is the better goalie and, even though COL has struggled this year, is on the better team with a better coach

I own Bernier too and he is good, but just stuck in a dysfunctional organization who has constructed a poorly balanced team around him and keeps firing their coach instead of addressing the real management incompetence...

I think the draft pick swap is negligible damage for a strong goalie upgrade.

Got to make this trade. Toronto is about to tear it all down for a rebuild and while both are skilled goaltenders, Varlamov is in a much better position. Not to mention his stats are inflated by Colorados terrible start, they have been significantly better of late, and Varlamovs recent numbers attest to that. I'd even go higher with the draft pick swap (A 6th for a 12th) if it ensured I got Varlamov- he's a keeper.

Yes do this trade. The picks are very minor compared to the goalie upgrade.
