Agreed. They MIGHT bring him in due to the number of back-to-back games Allen would face were Elliott to be out an extended amount of time. Brodeur is merely insurance and in no way a statement on the others' performance to date.
Doesn't matter what your team situation is or how desperate you are for a goalie, or if you're the Allen/Elliot owner. This Broduer hype is ridiculous. Unlike NJ, St. Louis does not owe him one single start. First off, we've seen it the last two years. He's done. Secondly, he's on a practice tryout. He's not signed. And even if he signs, it's unlikely he will ever start a game. And if he does, it will be one or two maximum. And probably perform terribly in them. Allen will grab that ball and run with it.

I agree. I think. Can't help but hold an inkling of hope for him, but you're right. But if there is one system where a bad goalie can look good, it's this one. But I think he gets spot starts until Elliott returns, and Allen shoulders the load.

God, I hope not...Brodeur is a locker room lawyer and obviously wants another shot to play...that is the last guy I would bring onto my team if I had a young goalie, Allen better grow eyes in the back of his head, Marty will have the knives sharp. The saving grace is Hitch probably knows Marty's games and knows Allen's development is important.

Yeah, I mean Elliott and his acl/mcl/lower body injury need to be absolutely 100% so even though he is listed as "week-to-week" he could absolutely see extended time due to the nature of the injury. But Brodeur IFF he is signed would be utilized in spot starts to not over work Allen relatively early in the season.
If anything it bumps Allen's value
@SmittysRant
What about Binnington? Is he simply a placeholder until Brodeur gets signed?
