Default Too many Goalies - What to do? Which one(s) to drop?

Points only league where goalies hold tremendous value: 3 points for a win + 4 extra points for a shutout (7 points total for a shutty) and .05 points per save (20 saves = 1 point)....Start 2 goalies every night, unlimited starts.....Raanta's shutout last night got me almost 9 points!

Not going to go through all the skater cats in detail but this league counts, g, a, hits, ppp, shp, +/- so skaters can rack up significant points in this setup as well - Lucic got 7.5pts last night and Patty Kane 5 pts.

It's a Limited keeper money pool where I lost last year becasue my goalies were garbage, so this year I aquired more then needed to see how things played out before dropping any.

Right now I'm sitting with Schnieder, Crawford/Raanta, Bernier, F.Anderson/Gibson....but I only have a bench 3 skaters deep becasue of all these goalies...sitting in 3rd place right now within striking distance of 1st, all the top teams have 4-5 goalies.

Raanta and Gibson are the obvious choices to drop (keep 4, they are not close to being keepers) but I like having the handcuffs for these teams...considering trying to trade Bernier for a skater, he's doing well now but I never start him ahead of schnieder, crawford, F. Anderson so he's on the bench many nights (like last night) when these goalies play the same night.

Thoughts? Should I make some moves (good players available of waivers) or wait another week or two to see how things play out (Crawfords injury, Gibosns return, etc,.)

    Thanks.

Bernier seems like the most logical to trade away. Having all the starts locked down for two of the best teams in the league is fantastic! Bernier will lose a lot of starts to Reimer and Toronto isn't really all that great so his numbers won't really help you much.

Can you trade these players for assets if goalies are worth lots. Talk to the Reimer owner? Bernier is an asset.
it all depends who is on waiver wire? how many waiver wire moves can you make?

Talking to the Reimer owner is where I would start too.

I would definitely look to deal Bernier, he's the odd man out in your rotation. He also might have some value after the numbers he had last season and playing in Toronto always gives a little boost to the right owner.

I would also be ok with getting rid of Raanta. He's just not that great, and he doesn't start enough in Chicago to warrant the handcuff imo. But that's up to you, you can keep him if you really want those 15-20 starts because he'll get wins out of them.

Thanks for input - confirmed what I was thinking with moving Bernier and likely dropping Raanta when Crawford is back....we get 50 waivers moves a year, Ive already used 10.

Most every one is okay with goalies except for 2 teams that only have 3 goalies...its only a 9 team league so everyone has pretty soild goalies.

Sent out a bunch of feelers for Bernier - my first move, even before posting here, was to target the Riemer owner but he's extremely difficult to trade with so nothing there...best counter offer I've got was Cammalleri straight up for Bernier...actually considering it as I think the Devils are going to be sneaky good this year and he will be a key piece for them....thing is there are some interesting players on waivers like Granland, Gallagher, Burakovsky, Tarasenko I could snag if I just drop him.

Dropping Raanta when Crawford returns would be a good move. As far as moving Bernier goes, if the best offer you have is for Cammalleri, I would be inclined to just drop him and pick up either Tarasenko or Granland. I prefer both of them this year and beyond to Cammalleri. Although with only a Keep 4 I don't think they'd crack your keeper spots. Regardless though I'd prefer either of them to Cammalleri. Maybe drop them both for both of those guys.

Dropping Bernier and Raanta for Granlund and Tarasenko is not a bad option if you can't find a trade partner for Bernier. Sucks to drop a guy who seemingly has some value, but if there just isn't room for him in your league then I guess a drop might have to happen.
