I'd like to know what what his actual NHL salary will be next year...can someone refresh my memory on the details of the new CBA. His salary can only increase by 5% each year and the highest year cannot be more than 20% than the lowest year. Is that correct?
EDIT: Never mind...found it. The salary variance on contracts from year to year cannot vary more than 35 per cent and the final year cannot vary more than 50 per cent of the highest year.

ok, my next question...if the NHL will allow the Coyotes to sign OEL to an extension, will they allow Smith? Last I heard, they wouldn't even consider that option until a new owner is found but I don't see what the difference is really.
