Team/settings in sig.
I'm tempted to grab him off waivers (currently 7th in waiver order so I may not get him), and drop Pouliot. Clowe seems like a guy that has a lot more upside, while Pouliot is pretty dependent on his linemates, and might get shuffled out of a favourable position when Malone returns from injury. Would you do this to add Clowe, and hope he gets back on track? Or drop another player instead maybe? (Ryder? Maybe Elliott?) Or would you pass on him?

I would not drop Ryder for Clowe. From your team I don't think I'd drop Elliott either.
Of course that's coming from someone that just dropped Clowe two days ago...

What about Pouliot though?

Yes I would. Following the Sharks closely. I know that if they dont snap out of their funk soon Clowe is trade bait. He has his ups and downs thats for sure but as you said Clowe is not as dependent on linemates as Pouliot.
When Malone gets back who knows where Pouliot fits in Tampas lineup, he will probably stick with the second line untill they struggle then what? Last but not least when Clowe struggles he gets mean, which means lots of pims

I would drop Pouliot for Clowe. I think Pouliot is over achieving and Clowe is the complete opposite. I also like him for the cats you have in your league. Like Marwin said when Malone's back Pouliot might eventually lose his spot on the second line to him.

Thanks fellas. Should I put in a waiver claim (currently 7/12 in priority), or hope he slides through and grab him as a FA?
I'd ideally like to keep moving up the waiver ranks in the event that a decent goaltender or defenseman gets dropped somewhere along the way.

*quick bump*
I'd love a little feedback on whether you guys think it's a good idea to go back to the bottom of the waiver order for this guy, or if I should wait and hope he clears.

With this short season and the fact that hes not a keeper. I would go for the slide tactic.

For whatever it's worth, it appears that Clowe will be losing his top 6 spot when he returns (at least temporarily), so an immediate turn around in production seems less likely than it otherwise might.
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/sharks/...is-to-improve/ I'd still much prefer him over Pouliot though.
