I think your idea is fine in a keep 8 BUT wouldn't you maybe be better off addressing your goaltending?

I personally wouldn't do it, but it is a keep 8 and you're getting a top 3 player so in this situation its probably best. Just tough to give up Tavares (who's on-freaking-fire)

At the moment, JT has played 1 more game and has 2 more then Geno. if Geno is a top 3 player in the league is JT a top 5?
I think i might be on the same page as 9601. plus, as a fan, I love watching Hall. So I dont want to give him up. not too mention Geno is concussed at the moment and who knows how long that will take to get over.

I wouldn't do it simply because you lose a keeper. You get an upgrade from Tavares to Malkin but honestly the jump isn't that big once you consider your last forward keeper drops from RNH (Or Hall) to Voraeck probably.
JT is a top 5 player.

there are times where getting the best player doesnt win a trade in a limited keeper and imo this is one of them
hold tavares and hall
