Brutal Offers...Thoughts On This One?

My team and league is in the signature below. Another manager keeps sending terrible offers, wanting either Parise or Giroux (ex. Brunner and Kadri for Parise...or Brunner, Briere and J.Staal for Parise and Backstrom-C). I've stated that it would take an offer including either Tavares or J.Neal to get Parise or Giroux.

What are your thoughts on his last 2 offers?

I'm not sure if either are good enough to pull the trigger on dealing Parise and a under achieving Backstrom.

While I will admit, these two offers are better then the ones you laid out at the start of your post, I dont think I would do either.

First off, I wouldnt sell low on Backstrom.

Backstrom and Parise are both 80+ pt contributors. While Taylor Hall is a nice piece, I'd be looking for a better second piece then Brunner before I would consider moving Parise and Backstrom for Hall and anyone. Chara is obviously a better Dman than Zidlicky, I still dont like the thought of giving up Backstrom and Parise in this deal.

As far as the second offer goes, this one is probably worse then the first one only because I see JStaal and Voracek at a wash. You dont gain anything by getting Staal for Voracek and Brunner/Hall is still lower valued then Backstrom/Parise.

I'd pass on both offers, that or I would counter on his first offer and take out Brunner and go back at him for a top forward. Without knowing what his roster looks like, I cant say who to throw in there instead of Brunner. Maybe he doesnt have anyone worthy of doing this deal.

Either way, if you are looking at whether to do either of these deals, I wouldnt. The first offer is certainly better then the second only because you get an upgrade on the backend with Chara but the difference in what you give up on the forward end just doesnt make it worth it to me.

I've countered with J.Tavares and J.Staal for Z.Parise and N.Backstrom(C)....but this guy is pretty tough to deal with. lol

Plain and simple, if you dont get what you want in return then thank him for his time and walk away. I've said this many times, just because you have entered into trade negotiations doesnt mean you have to make a trade. You are allowed to walk away without making a deal if the deal doesnt please you.

agreed like you i dont understand why people insist on trying to accommodate gms who are interested in fleecing them not dealing with them

this is typical tactics anymore it seems

bombard an owner with bad deals convincing him he needs to find a way to get a deal done

i expect that after the counter the other owner will try to offer a 'big trade' where he adds as many parts to the process to try to confuse the poster with a quantity over quality bid

if you arent actively shopping a player and someone offers you a shit deal it means they are trying to hose you it doesnt mean they are interested in trading with you

people need to learn to decline
