Getzlaf for Luongo

Getzlaf going UFA next year and could get 7M+
Will be hard to hold onto.

Lou 5.33M

Would give me a 3rd #1 which is good to cover the 164 games (full season) to play for G in our league.

I think I'm pretty good up front and Selanne could stay another year.
Not to mention Conacher and Atkinson in the reserves.

Thoughts?

While I think you could use more goaltending help, I dont know if I would be buying into Lou in a cap style of league. Then again, i guess it depends on the rules of your league.

Lou has 10 years left on his contract and will probably be a top goalie for another 3-4 years at best (he's 33 years old). If your league lets you drop guys under contract with no buy-out penalty then this looks like a good deal. If you have to pay a penalty for buying a contract out before it expires, I wouldnt touch Lou. If he only has 3-4 years of good production left, what are you going to do with him for those other 6 or so years of declining production at 5.33M per year?

I guess it depends on your league settings. I dont have that info so its hard to give you any more info on your deal.

What does that mean? no buyouts or strings attached? Does that mean you can drop anyone from your roster at any time, whether they still have a valid contract? Some leagues make you pay a buyout if you drop someone who is still under contract, or they only let you drop them free without penalty when they are a FA.

Sorry should have been clearer.

We have a team cap of 90M.
Each player's cap hit counts towards it.
That's all.
You can trade, drop, add whichever with no penalties, etc.

As for the future, no one knows.
I'm probably going to draft or WW a potential G for my farm who could come around in a few years.
