So heres the deal. The owner of Karlsson sits last and is pretty desperate. Im in fitfh place and not so sure I will compete this year, I know my team is strong but this season just flies by so quickly. Im thinking of offering him my Stamkos/Couture for Giroux/Karlsson. Its a 8 team keeper so wingers arent premium like Ceneters and D-men.

Do I give up to much? I know Couture and watched a ton of him and I just dont see the 90 point upside. My take on him is more 70-75 with maybe one career year + 80.

Ok all input on this is very much appriciated, thanks!

I think Stamkos is the best player in that deal, and because of that, I don't like it. Especially because we don't know how Karlsson is going to come back from this surgery, and I think you need to play that up a bit.

I'm ok with you moving Couture, but I would try to do it with a guy like Eberle instead. Why not try Couture for Karlsson straight up, or some kind of Eberle/Couture combo.

Basically anything without Stamkos, I think the price and risk is too high including him.

He makes a good point. I'd hold onto Stamkos as well, you know his value and upside. Everything for Karlsson will be up in the air now but a 1 for 1 Couture for Karlsson seems fair considering the risk.

I am on the Stamkos side here as well. Always take the best player in the deal and well, Stamkos is that player.

Also, this is a very interesting injury because how difficult recovery is. Depending on how well he rehabs, there is a chance he doesn't have the same skating ability again. Now of course, everyone said that about Malkin after his knee surgery (and Adrian Peterson as well) so... there is just a lot of risk and you lose Stamkos. Stand firm.

Gainer's two magic rules to live by:

rule 1: Stamkos is untradeable in any league or format
rule 2: Defencemen are over rated in fantasy

I own Stamkos in my league and I would only trade him if I was getting 2 top 5 players in return.

Thw deal on the board is not a good one for you IMO.

I love the idea of keeping Stamkos.. I would also try and trade Eberle/Couture for Karlsson..

Try a different package that doesn't have Stammer involved..
