Semin for Carter and Richards...???

After Keeping both Carter and Voracek last season and just recently landing Richards as a throw in, It was becoming extremely clear to me that I may have to drop these 3 clear cut keepers from years past. I hate admitting when players I've landed are potentially washed up.

SO...in an effort to consolidate some talent and get my current MAX Games played back in line...I've orchestrated the following trade.

out goes Carter and Richards (once a formidable duo...now just 2 guys on an enimic offence) (C/L and C/R eligibility)

in comes LW/RW Semin and a little defensive depth (while Smith is on the IR and Whitney benched).

Considering my team (below...not yet updated) Semin is at best a borderline keeper and if not...I'd rather drop he alone than both Carter AND Richards.

Whitney is simply a depth move for this season as I plan to roll with

Karlsson, Doughty, Edler and OEL.

That would leave my keepers
C - Tavares, Getzlaf
L - Hall, Marleau
R - Perry, Yakupov.
G - Bryz, Hiller

and my 2 Utility Spots will go any combo of Semin, Bernier, Backstrom, Ribiero, Clowe or Voracek.

How did I do?

I see Semin as an extremely High Risk...High Reward play. Thoughts?

LA is going to have one of the densest NHL schedules in a week or two. They are already near last in the NHL in games played... so for anybody that needs to make up GP, LA Kings will be a good team to invest in. If you are over for GP, then it makes sense to go for a higher player upside like Semin.

Mike Richards is my favourite player... but he & Carter certainly see a drop in production after they've achieved a goal. I predicted a major Stanley Cup hangover for the Kings and it looks like it is in effect.

So I guess the more significant question is...

Provided Semin re-signs (somewhere) in the NHL...Doesn't bolt to the KHL and chooses to be a little less than the head case he's been recently...then his keeper value is worth more than either Carter or Richards or both together?
