Getting ready to pull the trigger on Doan. Take him out back and give him the Ol' Yeller treatment.
Would likely take Derek Roy as a replacement forward. Would miss the hits, though. What's the deal with Doan this year, people who are following the Yotes?

I told the guy I needed Halak and he came back wanting Plekanec and Marchand for Halak and Doan. I just don't think I can do that. I'd even look at going with Vrbata rather than Doan. Had him last year and he did rather well for me. |

The few games I've seen this year, he hasn't been playing bad. His offensive skills have been in decline for the past few years, and now the team relies more on Vrbata and Boedker for scoring. It boils down to what you need more of. If its points, drop him. Roy will out point him this year by far. If you need hits, keep him around, because he will keep throwing that body around with reckless abandon until he retires.

His hits and shots are still on his regular pace but his shooting% is at 5% right now so a bit unlucky to start out.

Doan is about as consistent and predictable as you can get when it comes to scoring (20-30G, 50-60 pts almost his entire career, except for a few peak years) and I haven't seen any signs that his production is on a major downward trend. That being said, I really like Roy's situation this year. Roy finally has a legit #1 C to play in front of him and eat up all the tough shutdown minutes with Benn. He will have a lot more room this year in Dallas and great linemate options. I'd keep Doan and drop Ryder for Roy
