I'm finding it annoying jumping around on different sites to find different stats. No faceoffs on some, no TOI on others.
What's the best all-in-one solution?

http://scores.espn.go.com/nhl/ shows you most pertinent stats on one page, in the Boxscore.
nhl.com is pretty good too. They show G A P +/- PIM S HITS BKS GVA TKA FO% TOI in the scoring summary. You have to view Event Summary for more details like PP times.

In all seriousness I like using Frozen Pool's Compare-a-player tool. Not free though.

Depends on what I'm looking for specifically, but generally speaking, I go straight to the source: www.nhl.com
I find them to be the most accurate, comprehensive, and sortable. Their boxscores are also the best.

This does not include everything but it has every player on one page which is great for importing into Excel. Another site (one that I pay for) is Fantasy Hockey Geek. It's mainly a league breakdown tool for player value but you can export your league rankings in Excel format. This file contains every category relevant to your league for every player.

Here's what I do for my own stat gathering/analysis/crunching: For following stats day-to-day, I use: Box Scores: ESPN. (because they include PP TOI & FOW in an easy presentation). I check these several times a night and in the morning. I just find that ESPN has the cleanest presentation of box scores. For searching yearly totals in peripheral (non-scoring) statistics like Hits/Blocked Shots/FOW: NHL.com/Stats/Real-Time Stats (easy to switch between years) For copying statistics into Excel to crunch numbers: Yahoo NHL Statistics (because you can get Hits/Blks lumped in with the standard cats & they have shooting stats, PPG/PPA/SHG/SHA, just lots of columns on ONE internet loaded page). Once the season gets going, I just sort within my Yahoo! leagues to view all players stats. Every category that the league uses shows up in the Player Lists. Whether it's AVAILABLE players or ALL players, that's the best way to sort year-to-date, last 14 days, last 7 days of stats. |
