Hey Dobberites! I'm hoping to get some feedback on my team from those with keeper league experience as although I am a poolie, I'm a keeper league virgin. Any and all comments welcome!
League: Keep-10, 10 team H2H partial keeper. Cats: G, A, PPP, +/-, SOG, Hits, BS, PIM, SHP GAA, SV%, SV, W, SO Daily line-ups, 6 F, 4D, 2G on any given day. 16 roster spots, 10 player prospect team (drafted 3 this year). We played with similar categories last year in a one year league with the same managers, and defensive/gritty stats were undervalued, as were goaltenders. With this in mind, I aimed for a team built around gritty multi-cat guys and elite workhorse goaltending. I put dobbers roto-keeper rankings to good use. My team: F: Backstrom, Backes, Kesler, Benn, Lucic, Brown, Ryan, Semin, Pacioretty,Callahan D: Phaneuf, McDonough, Carlson, Hamonic G: Lundqvist, Ward, Hiller Farm: Huberdeau, Grigorenko, Markstrom I picked 6th overall and took Lundy first. I got great value on guys like Kesler (13th round), and got multi-cat studs like Brown, Lucic, Callahan after the 8th round......I ran the numbers in Hockey Pool Geek and all of these guys finished in the top 25 last year based on my league's format. I also managed to add some skill late in the draft with Ryan and Semin who were both snagged late after their rough seasons last year. With the exception of Phaneuf, I left my D for the very end and tried to get young bargain-friendly dmen with upside for the future. Trade talks are really heating up in my league, and with Kesler coming off of IR, I need to think about making a move. I'd like to hear what experienced keeper league managers think of my team, and what areas I should focus on, who I should consider trading, who I should target, etc. Thanks a lot for reading and for any comments, will dish out lots of rep for any help recieved.
