Who plays more Fasth or Mrazek?
Looking to pick up a goalie. Who should get more playing time? I think Mrazek might have more long term potential but Fasth's value is that he might get more games in now given his one way contract.
How do you guys see things playing out for them short and long term? I can only get one and my team's in the middle of the pack so its a move for this year but also hope to build on this in the next couple of years.

If its a move for this year and a couple more down the road I am sticking with Fasth. Not only did he start the year in the NHL but he has pretty much stole the starters job from Hillier.
Detroits goalies for this year are Howard and Gustavsson (baring any trades). Howard is a UFA at seasons end so next year is kinda up in the air for him but I'd be shocked if Detroit doesnt keep him at a new affordable rate. Mrazek is a long term option for the wings, but I dont see him being fantasy relevant anytime soon. Fasth is the option between those two in my opinion.

Don't be fooled into thinking Mrazek is an NHL goalie now after his one start. He might get spot starts here and there but he won't truly be in the NHL for another 3 years probably. Fasth however is a full-time NHL'er and right now he's playing great. Go with him.

It is very unlikely Mrzaek will be anymore then a backup for the period until Gus is back. It is not like the wings at all to play a 20 year old. Look at how many season Howard got one or two games until he became regular.
Mrzeak is a must have on a farm team though.
