Hey guys- in talks to acquire AO and wouldnt mind some feedback.
So Ovies owner is shopping him and has said he wants 2 very good forwards preferably wings. Looking at my team I have decided that Nash+ is a good start. I like Nash a lot this year on the blueshirts but I feel like AO has to bounce back a bit. Im a little stuck on who else to offer. My Forwards: C- Malkin, Carter, Huberdeau, Galchenyuk, Read W- Perry, Yakupov, Wheeler, Hemsky, Voracek, Okposo, Cammalleri Id like to offer a forward- Carter or even Huberdeau- but we can only roster 5 forwards and right now he has- Thornton, Krejci, Kesler, Turris, Gagner- so theres no "easy" dropper. He has also stated he would prefer two wingers. In that vein- Im not really eager to move Perry or Yakupov obviously. Is Wheeler a good enough second piece here? Yakupov too much? Whoever I include is an upgrade over Kovalev or Versteeg whom he would drop. Is Nash/Carter a legit offer for AO/Gagner? If he needs a winger instead is Nash/Wheeler worth it? Im not at the moment but is there merit to considering Nash/Yak for AO? Thoughts?

I think my first offer would be Wheeler/Carter for AO.. Never know who he is a liking at the moment and then you can 'hesitantly' offer Nash/Carter.. I know Yahoo has Carter as C/RW so I dunno if that helps out as you can sell him as being a winger.
And I'd be a lil cautious with moving Yak, if it is a keeper league. He seems to be getting his points so far and is on an exciting team. I feel as if he is shopping AO around, he expects him to be at a 70-80 pts clip for the forseeable future. In that case, I think he's looking for a 70+pt player to make up for trading him, plus a lil something for the peace of mind incase he turns it around. And that's the mind frame I'd have when making offers to him.

I don't think Nash/Carter will get it done.
And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Nash and Wheeler is too steep for Ovechkin at this point. It's a limited keeper so the side with the best player usually wins, but if I had your team my top priority would be improving my D. As for your third question, I'd move Huberdeau or Galchenyuk before Yakupov. Centres are easier to replace.

Bump!
Rejected due to the issue of having to drop a C. The counter-offer: Nash/Hemsky/Weber for AO/Dubinskey Off the hop I dont like it. I know Weber has struggled and may struggle all year but its hard not to view him as a top D man. Hemsky was a waiver add but a personal favorite. He also looks primed to have a fairly productive season. Dubinskey is waiver quality in this league. All this and Nash is ahead of him in our scoring format and AO looks more and more dead and gone every day. Should I re-consider? Counter offer? Team in sig.

Sorry to hijack, but would a straight swap of Yakupov for Ovechkin be worth a flyer in a full keeper?

I'd trade Nash, Hemsky, and Weber for Ovechkin and Dubinsky.
I'd trade Yakupov for Ovechkin in a full keeper. Trade for Ovechkin. |

I'd have no problem offering Nash and Wheeler. Goal/SOG heavy league. AO is at worst still better than Nash. Even being pessimistic about AO's fantasy output you should be able to reasonably expect 35+g, 35+a, 300+sog. That is an exceptional forward in your format. That is the least you can expect.
The best you can expect is a 50+ goal scorer with 400+SOG. I guesstimate a 50% chance at getting that. Overly optimistic? Possibly. Even still that first guy I described is still pretty good. AO at worst = Nash. So the tax for rolling the dice on receiving a 50+g forward is the second player you add to the trade. I personally would try adding Read. He's had a hat trick recently and got a bit of a value bump. Long term, he will be a 25-25-50 kind of guy I think. Nothing special. AO+ whatever you can get for Nash and Read I think that is steal for you and a god gamble. cheers, AW
