Default Which Deal Do You Prefer? (REP)

Need to address my FOW shortage. 5 potential deals on the table

1) Nathan Horton for Mike Richards

2) Jose Theodore for Stephen Weiss + Josh Harding

3) Jose Theodore for Galchenyuk + Josh Harding

4) Jose Theodore for Ott + Josh Harding

5) None of the above, go find FOW elsewhere.

(Apologies in advance - I put a version of the Theodore + trade up yesterday. Things changed a bit so I thought I would consult the boards again. Apprecaite the advice)

I'd do the Richards deal if you really need the FOW. It's a buy-low on Richards but I believe he's gotta come through at some point.

Other than that, the deals are pretty lateral

Ott is an absolute monster in all of the peripheral categories and is getting some PP time as I think he's a huge addition to your team. Theodore and Harding are a wash in my opinion. Theodore will get more starts but has not looked good. Harding hasn't looked good either but has a much stronger team in front of him. I'd do that deal.

I agree with LawMan. All of the deal seemed fairly lateral to me until I reached that one. I definitely wouldn't call Nathan Horton for Richards buying low. I don't like that deal at all. Ranking them (with an eye towards improving FOW) I would go:

Theodore for Ott and Harding
Theodore for Weiss and Harding
Horton for Richards
Theodore for Galchenyuk and Harding

Rookies always have a tough time with faceoffs

Thanks very much. Rep all around.

(One87 - the system tells me I can't rep you again until I spread more rep around. Sorry. Appreciate the input though)

Horton for M. Richards, is a great trade for you. Richards is a buy low guy right now, but I believe he can get it together and put up points as good as Horton, if not better. Of the options you are trying to trade for I feel most comfortable with him when it comes to FOW. Unfortuntely the best part of Richards you can't take advantage of, is the fact that he's listed as dual eligibility, which would mean you would be able to get FOW coming from the LW position along with your centers, but even without that huge advantage I still like the trade.

I like Ott over Weiss in the other trades, because of Ott's multi-cat effectiveness, as it's worth sacraficing a few points that the two would differ in. Galcehnyuk is the least appealing, as this is only a one year league, and there will probably be some growing pains along the way, as well as being the least reliable for FOW.

Its really not a great trade. Horton will beat Richards in points this year and Horton hits as much and gets more PIMs than Richards. Comparitively to both the Ott and Weiss trades it is a terrible trade.

I will agree, even though you are countering a post of my own. When I said that it was a great trade, I didn't realize that there were no foward positon requirements, and once I realized that I covered base. Without the big dual eligibility advantage, the trade goes from great to good, and it was never fixed in my post. But the point remains that trading Horton out for Richards is indeed a good move.
