sorry can't find an answer for this, don't want to mess something with my team... so here's my question

Can I drop a player from my team to add an IR player, place him on IR in my team right away and add another different player since I'll have a free spot? all that in back-to-back transactions on the same day?

yes you can - as long as you're league allows for 2 moves in a day.

Just to add to that...

You can...
1) Add a player A
2) Find a player B that is IR eligible that you also want
3) Drop the player A you just added
4) Add the IR eligible player B
5) Place the player B on IR
6) Add the original player A

All in the same day (or 30 seconds).

Wouldn't this depend on your league's waiver rules? ie if Player A needs to go through waivers, you couldn't add him again until the waiver period was over / you put in a claim and had the highest waiver priority of those who put in a claim by the time the waiver period was over.

Yes, you can do that no problem. As long as your settings allow for more than 1 transaction per week. Be aware though, depending on your settings, that this may not take effect until the following day. You'll notice it when you check your roster.

I'm not aware of any rules that limits adds per day, only per week/season.

Yes it would depend on the league's waiver rules. With waivers, for any player you drop you cannot pick him up again until they clear waivers and become a free agent. So if another team puts a claim in, you're out of luck. You cannot put in a claim for a player you dropped.

make sure to check your waiver rules or you could be losing someone to another manager.

ty for all your replies, with my league's settings, everything worked the way I planned

add IR player A, drop player B
put player A on IR (not showing on today's schedule, had to do it on next day)
add player C

On Yahoo if you pick up a player and immediately drop him (not sure how long immediate is but within the half hour for sure) they will not have to go back through waivers regardless of league waiver rules. I've had this happen several times for me.

Yahoo recognizes changes to rosters (FA and waiver eligibility) at the end of each calender day (eastern time though I believe)

If you make all of those moves on the same day the player never gets placed on waivers, because the player was not on a team when the day changed over. Of course it will still cost you a "move" if you have limited moves in your league setting.
