Default Drop Brodeur?

I'm considering dropping Brodeur for a better performing goalie. Some of my options (FA's) are listed. Is there any reason to hold on to Brodeur???

Devan Dubnyk
Anders Lindback
Ilya Bryzgalov
Evgeni Nabokov
Jimmy Howard
Tomas Vokoun

These are listed in order of their current season fan points. We use Win(4), Save(.2), GA (-1). Thanks for any help

Holy cow wish I had those fa's available. I would drop Brodeur for either Bryz or Howard. Both will get you wins and saves.

I'd add Lindback to that list. GAA is not stellar but should be offset with the Wins.

My thinking was Lindback was going to continue to get the wins (like you mentioned).
And I wasn't sure about Bryz since Flyers aren't doing to well in the standings. Is that something that should be taken into consideration? Or should the goalies stats speak for themselves?

haha, its a small league. Its just a 6 man league this year. Mostly to get the hang of things as this is most of our first years. Planning on expanding next year though. But in the meantime, we have alot of free agents left

Wins should be taken into consideration along with the other stats. You should also take into consideration intangables such as projected starts, how well the team plays, if the coach likes you, etc. Here's some intangables for the 3 mentioned above.

Howard - Coaches golden boy. Plays on a good offensive and defensive team, not as good as last year with Lidstrom but still good. Should get wins and saves due to number of starts.

Lindback - Not proven but plays on a highly offensive team. Will get starts as long as he plays well. High number of starts will translate into wins. Saves might be variable.

Bryzgalov - Still got 33 wins last year. Has played well this year but team hasn't. Wins should come if the team starts supporting him.

It really comes down to what you think will happen here on out. These are the best 3 of the list.

Okay perfect. That really helpful for a novice such as myself. Thanks for taking the time to break it down like that! I'm going to have another look at those three and make my decision. I'm kind of leaning towards taking a chance on Lindback right now. So I might pick him up, and if it doesn't work out, I can always swap him out down the road (since I have a somewhat decent selection to choose from). Thanks again.

why drop Brodeur when the Devils are hot right now. I think you need to hold onto him until the Devils begin their suck streak
