Stick with Schneider?

Hi guys,

I currently owned Schneider in my pts only salary cap keeper league and I'm wondering if I should stick with him even if Bobby Lu is now #1 in Van? I have 1.5M cap space available right now (5M if you include Schneider's salary) but I could move a def if I had to....Here are some FA goalies at the moment:

Dubenyk
Lethonen
Miller
Brodeur
Luongo
Bryz
Riemer
Backstrom
Smith
Neuvirth
Holtby
Theodore

Should I wait and stick with Schneider or grab a FA? I currently sit on third place in the league in sig.

how is miller a f.a.?
there seems to be a lot of tallent on the wire to choose from. schnider should be able to land you something decent in a trade too.

I may be able to go after Fleury in a trade for Schneider....is that a better option than the free agents above? Will he split 50-50 with Vokoun?

Trade Schneider for a more established tender who is an upgrade. AT WORST, I'd be okay with upgrading at another position and riding it out with Dubnyk.

Based on positional requirements (or lack thereof ) and your scoring categories I would advocate the same as above.

Drop a forward and pick up Luongo.

As for which forward to drop, well that's another kettle of fish

Tell us some more about your league:

1. Is there any "bench"? It appears that you have no bench players.
2. If there is no bench, I'm assuming you can ONLY roster 2G. Is that a rule?
3. Daily or weekly starts?


What catches my eye on your roster is Dan Hamhuis.
That's a lot of money to pay for an average defenseman.
I'd just cut him and roster a bargain-defenseman like... um, say, Dougie Hamilton? Brendan Smith? Justin Faulk? Slava Voynov?


Everybody that hears "keeper" and sees Schneider is going to quickly think that he is a "must keep". But if you only have 10-teams and you can only roster 2G, then there will ALWAYS be great goalies on the wire.

You have to have a #1 goalie to win this league.
You want one of your two goalies to be a FOREVER KEEPER - and you have that with Rask. So I think you can really consider dropping Schneider for another goalie (if you have a shot at the title). I think you drop Hamhuis to clear the cap room to grab another guy.
