So I am in a 10 team 10 keeper league with G, A, +/-, SOG, Def Pt, ST Pt, PIM, GAA, SV% and W as cats it is Roto.

My team is Jamie Benn, Jeff Carter, Alex Galchenyuk, Evander Kane, James van Riemsdyk, Patrick Kane, Teddy Purcell, Andrew Ladd, David Clarkson, Kyle Okposo, Martin Havlat, Alex Burrows, Shane Doan and Max Pacioretty at Forwards and at D... Erik Karlsson, PK Subban, Keith Yandle, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, John Carlson, Fydor Tyutin, Lubomir Visnovsky and James Wisniewski. My Goalies are Tuukka Rask and Carey Price.

We start 4 C, 4 LW, 4 RW, 6D and 2 G with 3 BN.

I really do not care about winning this year at all. We can keep any 10 players for as long as we want to. I have been offered...

I do not know whether or not to take it. Clearly I am getting the best player in the deal but I am really thinning out my keepers giving E Kane and Yandle in that deal plus Galchenyuk could be a diamond in the rough where I landed him (last round). HELP!!!!!!!!!

Firstly, I'd keep:
Rask, Price
Karlsson, Subban, OEL
...which covers 5 of 10 keepers.

Then you have:
Benn, Patrick Kane, Evander Kane, Max Pacioretty
... and then one of Carter, JvR, Purcell, Galchenyuk.

So to me, that makes Yandle quite expendable, and I see Tavares as an upgrade over Evander (except I am not sure what Def Pt and ST Pt are).

I would try to get something a little better in the return to chase a second trade to upgrade that 5th forward keeper, but otherwise I think the trade is on the right track.

This deal doesn't work in your favor. If you can counter by taking E.Kane out of the deal and adding someone less valuable, I'd consider it. As it currently stands, I would PASS for the following reasons:


1) He's giving you Ellis, and you DON'T need another defencemen to keep. You're stacked there. That, imo, lessens the value of what he's offering, even with it being Ellis.

2) E. Kane is a LW. That is still a very difficult position to fill. The fact that he can probably out PIM Tavares by a margin that will be further than their point differential, makes him SUPER valuable.

3) As much as one can have a fantasy man-crush on Tavares, NO way is he out-producing E. Kane and Galchenyuk, BOOK IT!!

4) He's adding Mueller to the deal for what? Where's your garbage player? Everything on your end is premium.

Yandle + JvR + Galy is a nice offer. Not sure the Toews owner goes for it because the forwards being sent are more upside than actual production. However, Galy is playing well so it may work.
