Some of the best trades are the rejected ones.
Lots of questions...lots of coffee, get ready boys...here we go.
I'll start with last season....I couldn't trade Crosby for a player on IR. It was sad how other GM's in a keeper league couldn't see the value long term. I understand we're all in it to win, but it's Sid??? I actually offered Crosby for Semin and some other non-keeper and was handily turned down..no counter at all. This repeated itself with 3 other GM's. Thank goodness no one else could see beyond the moment. I win this one. Well the same thing happened with Ovi yesterday, although this one was more in my favor. I offered Ovi/Souray for RNH/Subban. I was expecting a counter offer that never came. Keep in mind RNH hasn't exactly blown up the league either. So I ask, will this one work out the same way in the long run or is Ovi a fringe keeper at this point in his career. I want to trade Ovi just to get rid of the frustration factor and I have Yak or Byfuglien waiting in the wings to possibly take his spot as my 4th. Would Ovi for Karlsson be a fair trade that helps me THIS season? Or is am I under valuing him? Ok I'm done...for now. Edit: I should add that I was making a huge run and adding depth may have put me over the top last year. At the point I made those offers it looked like Sid was done for the year.

I would do a Ovi for Karlsson. Good for the present and the future.

Wow crazy! I would have taken Crosby off your hands. 2 years ago I acquired Malkin. The other GM had him on IR, and was actually in 1st place and going for it. Sent him Skinner and Yandle for him. Worked out good for me I think.
As for Ovie it's really tough. He seems to have regressed greatly. I'd probably go for the Karlsson trade if you can swing it.

I wouldn't trade my Karlsson for Ovi right now.
I don't want to make that gamble.

Right now I cant see anyone trading Karl for Ovie . But it doesn't hurt to try.
