Default Sharp for Hall

Points only - 7 Team - Start: 15F, 6D, 2G - Mock Cap -Team in Sig

I am going for it this year. I have traded all my assets and draft picks and as you can see I have quite the team. Another team in our pool is currently doing better and I am always looking for a another boost to my team without taking away points.

The offer is:

My: Patrick Sharp

For his: Taylor Hall

My keeper senses say make this deal immediatly but I am conflicted as Sharp is a beast for pools and Hall is a band-aid boy and as mentioned I have invested everything into winning this year.

2 questions:

1- Does hall outpoint sharp this year while staying healthy?

2- Do I take the hit on what could be lost points to pick up Taylor hall for the future as he is signed to a ridiculous cheap contract for the next 3 years.

Thanks in advance

Points only, I have no problem whatsoever taking Hall over Sharp. The fact that it helps with your cap is a bonus. I say go for it.

I'd also definitely take Hall here. Go for it!

You have to grab Hall.

What's the difference this year?

Hall 35-50
Sharp 40-48

So, I think Sharp has the tighter window. You'll notice the windows overlap significantly. Maybe you don't agree with these windows. Consider this carefully. What does it mean? Worst case scenario is you sacrifice a point a week (Hall's low versus Sharp's high). Best case is you actually gain 10 points.

Sharp is clearly in his prime. No reason not to hope for a few more solid seasons from him. Chicago needs him to be productive and will give him opportunity. He also has the potential to gradually move from shooter to playmaker. Some guys move effectively from one role to the other during the course of their careers.

Hall. Yes, he poses more injury risk. He also poses more Hall of Fame potential. He's taken his time, moving up the ladder in the NHL. Consider if he was a rookie this year, like Tarasenko. We'd all be extolling his vast virtues. They're only a month apart in age. So, Hall can clearly find some more, and higher windows.

This is a risk you need to take. Grab Hall while opportunity knocks. Sharp is great. Hall is currently very good, with a chance to be very great. Good chance he steps up to great this year! (he had about 50 point in about 60 games last year, so it was better than it feels)
