Default Goalie Jam

So Niemi is available on the WW.

I'm currently sitting with Anderson, Lehtonen, Rinne and Crawford.

Should I drop someone to grab him?

I'm partial to Anderson only since he's my only Eastern conference G and I don't want to be stuck with all Western PLUS divisional.

Thoughts?

Even with starting 6 D...I'd drop Niskanen for Niemi and then push to make a move. Goalie are a lot harder to come by and the Sharks look fantastic. I can't believe Niemi is even available....

I don't think Niemi is better than anyone you have right now. Stand pat

I think having 5 Goaltenders in a 2G league is not highly desirable... with only 5 teams there should always be decent goaltending.

It depends. If there is a games cap then you definitely do not want 5 goalies. If there is no games cap then I'd agree with the advice because W/SA/Saves/SHO all benefit from additional goalie games, with only L/GA suffering.

Don't think you need to move anyone either... personally I would consider dropping Anderson for Niemi but it isn't a slam-dunk, so if you have a preference to Anderson I'd stand pat.

Thanks guys.

Actually, I just dropped Niskanen for Salo (my +- was getting killed overall and Salo seems to be doing a decent job this year).

And I just added Perron for Winnik (I think his streak is going to end... and I'm already riding Conacher and Tarasenko... wanted some veteran sustainability)

I am currently leading in all G cats but Wins. So adding Niemi would be to help shore up that aspect.

I think I'm overall good (once Rinne gets his act together)... but I want to ensure I keep my edge in G cats.

Should I consider dropping a G or riding with 5 G - which seems excessive to me.

If so who?

Thanks Cadance.

That was my thought... kind of excessive... definitely a cap on games... 5 G would kill that fast... also, Anderson at least gives me an Eastern Goalie... meaning more games played option
