Check out the deal I just swung (league in sig):

My: Wheeler, Ryder

For his: Ovechkin, Wolski

Now, if Ovie keeps playing the way he's playing, this is either a wash or I lose. If Ovie wakes up, I look like an evil genius. I can't believe he accepted the offer!

Definitely has the potential to be a big score for you this early in the year!

Wow.
Well... in a points-only pool that is deep (say 16+ teams x 12F) it could end up being even 2v2 points.

But in small leagues & multi-cat, the Ovechkin side should win.
(Gosh, it's sad when I have to italicize the "should")

Our commissioner is getting flak for approving it. There's no reason to veto it though as far as I can tell. Ryder and Wheeler combined for more points than Ovie and Wolski did last week, easily.

I can see why people might be upset. The potential of Ovi>>>>all the other players in that deal. But, if you're dealing with someone who puts a lot of stock into the first 5 games, then the deal looks fair.

Would I be upset if the guy ahead of me swapped wheeler and ryder for ovi? Maybe a bit, but good for you! You pounced and they didn't. Basically the ultimate buy-low on your part.

Yeah, basically. The way I see it is they are just pissed that they didn't think of it first. I never thought the deal would go through, I was basically just throwing something out there to see if we could work something out. The Ovie owner had a horrible week though, so I'm thinking he might have accepted out of frustration.

One year leagues are so different. Ovechkin's value is in keeper leagues. He still has the most one-year upside but it could go either way this year.

I would have too much pride to give up on Ovechkin already considering how high I probably would have had to take him.

I'd go down with the ship lol.

If OV keeps trending the way he's been going (not only this year but the past 2 prior), it may very well be YOU who just got fleeced.
