What's the take on this guy he went from somewhat mediocre to a star. Can I snag him if I give up Theodore and Tarasenko?

i disagree that he was mediocre
i thought he was the most talented of the 3 but he struggled some with injuries and he was due to become an rfa and get a raise and had 2 goalies behind him all of that coupled with the ridiculous price colorado was willing to pay for him made the decision for washington his numbers on washington in 10-11 were quite good and he is only 24 |

Smokie...you wouldn't do that would you? I think Varly's good, but not that offer good. I'd be willing to bet you could get a LOT more than Varly if you offer up #91.

He may not be as good a Price, but I think he'll be close. The only worry for me is the strong offense within the same division. (Canucks, Wilds and the Oilers) |

Interesting discussion. I was basically offered the same deal - I have Tarasenko and I could use another goalie. I owned Varlamov in previous years and was disappointed how his injuries seemed to detract from his otherwise stellar career ~ .920 save percentage at the time. He's obviously a talented guy, but the injury bug is there and he plays for a sub-par team. He may very well be the next Carey Price (who in my league fell a few tiers when Montreal stunk last year) - great talent, but just not in the right system.
Think I am going to keep Tarasenko. Going to continue to follow this post though.

You keep 2 goalies in your format correct? If that is the case I would not deal for him. You're gonna keep Ward / Rask thus Varly will be a non-keeper for you. I'd hold onto Tarasenko and keep seeing how he develops.
