ok i took over a team that is only partially rebuilt the league is the third one in my sig
it finished in the bottom of the league for several years and i have plenty of oilers as well as tavares on my squad the problem is i have rinne and that is it for my goaltending (i mean i have chris mason labarbera khudobin and khabibulin as well) and i feel like i could definitely use a second should i be using galchenyuk to try to get me a goalie would he be a good starter in a conversation for say varlamov if that gm has crawford and backstrom as his other goalies |

I'm betting you'd easily be able to find a taker for such a highly valued prospect. Likew you mentioned....you definitely only have 1 proven goalie, and even he scares me a bit as I never really can figure out what type of team the Preds are. They just don't score enough still, so Rinne's win totals are often lower than they should be. His other peripheral stats are super solid.
Who might you target? Any buy low candidates out there? Might the Luongo owner be ready to ship him out> It'd be a gamble, but might cost you les than what it would have even a couple of weeks ago. Keep us informed.....good luck!

Based on the popular opinion of the GMs in my league.. Varlamov is a stud.. Start with Varly and work your way down the list (crawford then backstrom). All three would be a good return. Keep the oilers and keep tavares

I honestly think you might get more for Galchenyuk. He should definitely get a trade conversation going if the other owner has those 3 Goalies. I'd throw a bunch of offers out there and see if any come back. Make sure you let ALL the other GM'as in your league know Galy is available too.

as for a bunch of offers i am looking to put the position to bed for a little while so i can focus on figuring out what i might need for the rest of the team i am really not to interested in going after the mid 30s goalies especially if giving up an 18 year old it doesnt hurt to let people know he is out there thanks |

2 days on the block now and not a single offer
i would have thought galchenyuk would have sparked some interest |

Galchenyuk only has fantasy hockey value here on Dobber boards where people actually know about him and discuss. The average hockey fan has no idea where Galchenyuk's future value is.
In your league, a 9/4 category split... I'd just hold Rinne. If anything, touch base with the Mike Smith owner - he's the best goalie that can be gotten cheap right now. AND, I predict that Smith will sign a big contract in the summer to be the #1 goalie for either DET/MIN/TOR. But this is still a league you can win just with terrific forwards. Your forwards could take all 9 cats and you'd win a H2H match-up 9/4. Or Rinne has a solid week and you win GAA/SV%... Nashville is still a team that doesn't give up a lot of goals. I realize Rinne & the Preds are struggling to win... but that's just ONE cat. I wouldn't be looking to break up a good team to try and bolster one category. Assuming this is a "daily" start league - I'd just keep your eye out for back-ups getting starts and go with that. |

it is a league with farm teams and judging by some of the moves i have seen there are some guys with some knowledge beyond run of the mill fantasy leagues
but i will take your advice i think and try a few weeks running with rinne and rinne alone although i will say that with the 3 start minimum i likely give up the goalie stats every week Last edited by lucifer316; 01-29-2013 at 10:35 AM. |

I would have thought you'd get some nibbles too, especially with him being notified yesterday that he's not going back to Junior. Watch what happens if he continues to put a few points up....
Good luck lucifer!
