Default Trade Offer

I give:
Brodeur, Horton, Carter

I get:
Lindback, Sharp, Kessel

I feel like goalies are worth a premium. What do you think about this offer?

I like it.

Sharp > Horton
Kessel >> Carter
Brodeur is better than Lindback, but by how much... (Of course, how many of us keep thinking he's going to decline sooner or later, didn't he post a SO yesterday! LOL!).

I'd still take it. RW is your gap and this fills it. Lindback should not be far of Brodeur in everything except SO, and that assumes Brodeur can keep it together for yet another year.

Your signature says points so can you provide the values assigned to each scoring category? It may not change the advice but it's still important to gauge how much skaters and goalies contribute to your weekly production. I also suggest you add this information to your signature for future threads.

It's an ESPN H2H League.

That doesn't clear things up for me, I don't play in ESPN leagues. I know it's H2H but you mention total points. So can you please clarify where you say in your signature "Total Weekly Points Gets the Win Each Week". Is it the total of categories won gets the win e.g. you win goals, you get one point, you win assists, you get one point etc and you can win matchups by a, for example, 6-5, 7-4 score? Or is it goals worth 2, assists worth 1 and who has the most points e.g. 30-29 win the matchup?

Like this. What do you call that format?

Most just called it H2H as it's the most standard format. When you say 'points' it can get confusing as there are H2H Points leagues as I've mentioned above. Another way to clarify your league is call it 'H2H Category Win', which is how Yahoo defines it. That would make it clear to everyone, especially those who are pedantic like me.

As for your offer, given the clarification (thanks, by the way) I would probably take that deal. It's possible that Lindback is a small downgrade on Brodeur but it's a solid offensive upgrade. Shutouts rarely have much of an effect on a weekly basis (of course Brodeur got one) so you essentially have 8 skater cats and 3 goalie ones. I think the offensive upgrade is worth it.

I'd do it. Marginal goalie downgrade, while you upgrade on both of your forward players in a significant manner.
