Can acquire JVR+Elliot for Eriksson+Markstrom. I'm looking for an upgrade to goalies for this season, but I'm concerned that elliot won't get many starts and that I'm giving up too much value for him.

Might be able to get Tarasenko+Elliot instead.

Would you do either? Values close i.e. would a draft pick swap be enough to level the trade?

Keep Eriksson and Markstrom unless you are getting at least a tier 2 goalie in return.

Do NOT underestimate Eriksson's durability and consistency!

That alone is worth more than the return you are considering.

Even if Tarasenko was included, remember the adage ..... proven always trumps prospect.

Try to get something better.

do yourself a favor chase a starting goalie or at least the 1a of a tandem dont chase a 1b

I've been trying. 12 teams, keep 14, 2 goalie starts a night, 3 goalie starts min. per matchup

Everyone basically has 2 starts, and then you have people that don't want to part with a 3rd or even 4th starter.

I took the team over and got Lindback + Theodore through draft this year and Markstrom as a FA late last year.

Going to be hard to pry a starter or 1A from anyone.

In a keep-14, I'd be holding on to Markstrom, although it might be a painful season for you. He is your best bet to ultimately improve your tending situation. Elliot will not help you unless halak gets hit by a bus.

i am not as down on elliots future as some tend to be however i also would never trade for him

unless the deal is too good to pass up on (which it will not be) the risk is too great imo

if Nihlstorp is still available, I'd snatch him up to get you though this season.

He should get you some good starts in a compressed season with a lot of back-to-backs.

Is Clemmensen available? At the very least you'd have all of Florida's goalies. I think you'd be giving away two really good assets for some pretty short term gain. Elliott and Halak are good goalies, definitely, but the real star is Hitchcock's system. I made this type of deal to land Mason the year after his rookie season, although I probably paid more, and have been regretting it ever since. I wouldn't do either of the deals you are looking at.
