How many goals and assists will he score this year? Is 30 points possible on a goal heavy Pens team? Should I try and trade him now while his value is hot?

I wouldn't count on more than 20 points, 5 goals if your lucky.

Why would anyone expect 30 points? He has a 35-point season under his belt but that was 2009. Let's be realistic here.

Niskanen is my sleeper pick for this season.
He's a solid player (offensively) and will play on that PP2 with Paul Martin and has looked good there. I think 30pts is... possible! I predicted 31pts in Angus' sleeper thread. |

Highly unlikely. 31 points in 48 games translates to 53 in 82. Not too many D get 50+ points and it's an even rarer feat (don't really know of anyone in recent memory) to get that many points playing PP2.

Uh unlikely... yeah - I know. My math is OK. But if you are going to predict somebody as a sleeper... you have to predict them fairly high to call them a "sleeper". |

wow...I would pass on anyone not named Letang. I have never seen high contributions from the D in Pittsburgh...it goes against common sense i know, but I think Bylsma is a "roles" kinda guy, and if you're not dubbed to be an offensive contributor, he just expects you to keep the puck out of your own net. Its one of the reasons they let Gonchar go a few years ago, they only expect offence from Letang.
PP2 time in pittsburgh is like :30 a PP if they're lucky! can't expect much from there either
