Anybody starting Bryzgalov today?
Just wondering if anyone can give me some motivation to start him against the Pens. His career regular season numbers against the Penguins are solid, but his playoff performance last year was so fugly, and Sid is in the lineup.
My only alternative (Quick is a must start to me), is Varlamov away against the Wild. Varlamov tends to perform worse in away games and I'm wondering if Minnesota will shell him. THoughts?

If he's your best goalie you use him as often as you can. I don't believe in match-ups.

I'm in the same boat. However, its Bryz or Backstrom.
I'm gonna play Backstrom. I don't think Bryz was lights out in the KHL, and I'm worried about an eager Sid. I just dont feel comfortable playing him yet, even though there are a lot of posts about playing your best goalies regardless.

Hey bondon, the Flyers are starting Bryz....does that help? LOL, i crack myself up. Anywho, I am a firm believer that Bryz will regain whatever was lost last season. Looking at trends, he did the same thing in PHO. Not very good his first year, then dramatically improved. Alot of things involved in moving to a new team can affect players. I am willing to write-off last season for Bryz. Look for him to rebound exponentially. Heard he is coming in to the season in much better shape (lost some weight which has to improve that god awful post-to-post movement we saw last season, i think my reflexes are faster than his an i havent suited up in 10+ years)
oh, so in summary. i would start him.

Got him locked in for the week. Was between Bryz or Neuvirth. One big problem though, I have Malkin also. Today I'm routing for Bryz. Malkin will get his points. Lets hope Couturier can shut him down like in the playoffs.
