Heatley or Backstrom (MIN)

I'm in a 14 team, standard yahoo scoring, no special defense scoring cats., keeper/dynasty salary cap league and torn on a decision I need to make by Saturday morning. I'm over the cap and need to eliminate one of these options-

#1 Dany Heatley

#2 Niklas Backstrom (G,MIN) & Pick up Ray Emery (that's all that's left!!!)

#3 Luke Schenn/Corey Crawford

Current roster-

Forwards- Backstrom (WSH), Koivu (MIN), Malkin, P.Kane, E.Kane, Heatley, Kreider, Desharnais, Simmonds, Eller, Tlusty, Paajarvi

Defense- Chara, Burns, Schenn, Niskanen, Weber, O'Brien

Goaltenders- Brodeur, Backstrom, Crawford

Since it's a 14 team, 21 man roster, with 3 goalies, I can find somewhat of a serviceable forward to plug in if I axe Heatley.....

I'm very tempted to buy out Backstrom and pick up Emery, but goalies are hard to fin in this league...... And he's a UFA after next year, which means I will lose him and I can't trade him because of his 6M price tag........


Am I right in leaning towards cutting Backstrom?????

All thoughts or quick comment sare appreciated.

As you said, Heatley is easier to be replaced via FA so you have to drop him over Backstrom. Your goalies aren't that strong so that you could let Backstrom go.

Really appreciate it....... I think Heater will have a bounceback year, but Emery is significant enough of a downgrade over Backs, that i think i am forced to buy out Heater.

I'm 98% sure Heater is gotta be my cap casualty.....
