Default How Can My Team Be Beat????

I got into an 10 person office pool, didn't really care about it, had the draft, and just now realized that it is a fairly big money pool...so now I want to make sure and win.
I think I had a great draft, but need another set of eyes to tell me if I am weak in any department. Let me know your thoughts, and thank you in advance!

Category League:
Roster Positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR
Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG)
Goaltenders Stat Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)

My team: (I had the 3rd pick)
C
Sidney Crosby
Jonathan Toews
Patrice Bergeron

LW
Zach Parise
Dustin Brown (LW/RW)
Alexander Semin (LW/RW)

RW
Jordan Eberle
Martin St. Louis

D
Alex Pietrangelo
Mike Green
Alex Goligoski
Sergei Gonchar
Justin Schultz

G
Mike Smith
Cam Ward
Carey Price

Top on the Waiver Wire is:
Teemu Selanne
Mikko Koivu
David Krejci
Matt Duchene
Paul Stastny
P.A. Parenteau
Jakub Voracek
Daniel Alfredsson
Mark Giordano
Cam Fowler
Patrik Elias
James Wisniewski
Jaromir Jagr
Tyler Ennis
Vincent Lecavalier

Nice team. I wouldn't keep 5 D though in that format. I would drop Gonchar for either M Koivu, Elias, Parenteau or Jagr.

Is this a H2H or Roto league?
[Add that to your SIG... and perhaps change your SIG to Font Size 1]

It is a H2H daily change category league.

Thanks for the advice. Updating now

I see myself maybe falling short in PIM's. Marchand is available, think I should target him instead even despite having Bergeron?

I like Koivu over Bergeron to be honest. Playing between Parise and Heatley is going to be a career year for him.

Also, you need to make room for Teemu!!! I don't care how you do it, just do it!!!! Gonchar is probably the best bet to drop for him.

Think I should grab Koivu despite having Parise already? Don't want to get stuck in a feast or famine situation...

I like Koivu as an offensive player more than Bergeron and the linemates he will have in Parise and Heatley are very gifted offensively. Bergeron will probably line up with Marchand and Seguin, so if Seguin takes another step forward offensively it will help Bergeron. In the shortened season, it may only translate to a 5-point difference between the two so it might be worth it to hold off for now. Keep a close eye on Minny though and don't be afraid to pull the trigger if Parise clicks with Koivu right away.

I would personally grab BOTH Marchand(LW) and Selanne(RW).

Drop Dustin Brown... who really isn't a top player in a 6F league without HITS.
Drop Gonchar... who will be a big minus on a defensively-depleted OTT team.

ANA has a really nice off-night schedule and you will find you get a lot of starts from your ANA players. They'll also NOT play on the NHL-heavy nights, so there aren't too many games lost.

I love, love, love Mikko Koivu... but with only 2C slots (& no extra UTIL), I'm just not sure how often you'll be able to get him in your roster. 4C with 2C slots will have a lot of benched players - and a benched player is lost points.

Just made exactly these moves.

Now that I ahve done them I feel even better about my team. Teemu is a must have considering PPP is a category, so I don't know why I didn't think of that myself.

Marchand is going to have a short leash and will be my first add/drop for the hot waiver wire pick up.

Thank you.
