For the league in my sig I am pretty deep in D. Although at this time I have noticed a flaw as it were in my drafting. Given this is a cap league I am pretty much strapped as it for salary. If I can move one of my Dmen for a smaller salary player or a decent pick (likely Carle as he would be a non keeper for me) I would be left with Goligoski/Smith/Karlsson/Shattenkirk as my main start 4 D men.
This isn't that bad though as then it would enable me instead of only cycling in say 2 players from my farm on any given night but instead my whole team (minus Markstrom who is likely to stay in the minors). Essentially my farm becomes one big bench as well and I could maximize weekly skater starts. Does this sound nuts? I'm debating it as I have a pretty stacked farm of Calder Candidates. If I trade Carle straight out for a pick (we only draft 8 rounds a year- 14 team league) how should I value him? He is set to be the top PP option and possibly top dman icetime from the research I've done. What do you think?
