Nyquist
Seriously..... I drafted this guy thinking at least he'd make the team this year and I get hammered by 2 peices of news one via Twitter and some beat writer for Fantrax.
"As per @TSNBobMcKenzie tweet last night, looks like Gustav Nyquist staying in #AHL to start the season. Mistake? Kid has proved himself IMO. " "The Detroit Red Wings opening night roster isn't likely to include Gustav Nyquist. Nyquist was productive for the Wings last season with seven points in 18 contests, but with everyone at full health his services aren't currently required. He should be one of the first players summoned from Grand Rapids this year." I drafted this guy at least thinking I'd be able to cycle him in to maximize my head to head player starts and Brunner is making the team right out of camp? I'm so effing angry right now.

Blame it on Brunner. But I am fairly confident that Nyquist will be recalled at some point this season.

Just look at the number of guys on one-way contracts that can't be sent down.
Detroit is looking for help on D. Watch them trade away a forward or two for D and then call Nyquist up. Or he plays most of the season in the AHL, building up his confidence playing lots of first line minutes, only getting injury callups. Could go either way.

All the same from research he was supposed to be up this year given what I read. But Brunner is young as well so not sure of the logic there, just saying.

Nothing to worry about with Nyquist. The Wings have their fair share of injury prone guys so he will get plenty of action.
