Just got offered a deal for Price

I was offered Correy Perry and Josh harding for Kerry Price. I had to drop Ian White (D) to make space in order to accept it.

16 team, one year H2H, standard cats league.
2C, 2LW, 2RW, 4D, 2G, 3 bench

Team will now consist of the following:

Center: Backstrom, P.Kane (RW)
LW: Benn (C), Moulson
RW: Perry, Semin (LW)
Def: Kulikov, E.Johnson
G: Lundquist, Reimer,

Bench: Harding (G), McDonald (C/LW), Purcell (RW, Vrbata (RW) and Grabovski (C), Dorsett (RW)

I'll now look at packaging a couple of the bench players to see if I can score a high end D-man and/or upgrade my tenders.

I don't like the deal for you. In a 16 team league goalies are going to be slim pickings. You managed to draft 2 legit starters who will each have 38+ starts which would be a huge edge in this league. With Price gone you now have to rely on Reimer (whose value is nil if Luongo does end up in Toronto) and Harding (a back-up who was recently diagnosed with MS) to pick up the slack. I see these 2 guys combined having worse peripherals and a lower win total than Price alone.

Corey Perry is a stud but I think the holes are too huge if you make the deal. I'd say keep Price + Lundy and try and trade Reimer (soon) to a manager thin on goalies for a solid D-man. Now you a large edge in goalies, 4 D-men and then try a 2-for-1 to get a star forward.

Yeah in your format you should get more for a top goalie like Price.

Your goaltending gets you 46% of your CATS. So, if you trade your entire team, for the best three goaltenders in the league, you win 43% of the CATS you need to win. Then you pluck the dummies off the waiver wire (or however you get dummies). They win you 5% of your CATS.

So, your team would be .500 without having one decent skater.

16 teams means that there aren't enough starters out there for every team to have a good pair of tenders. Somebody is depending upon split net situations.

Harding - he's got Lou Gehrig's Disease (is that right?), so he's playing on borrowed time now.

Perry - count him as a 70 point winger (and hope for the 80+ thing).

I'm taking Carey Price all day long.

There is no such thing as standard cats - but there are default cats - and I need to tell you that the folks that can really help you won't be sure what the default cats are in most cases because you didn't tell us who your pool provider is.

Anyway - my advice now that you have done the deal is to unload your gun and tell your wife to hide it so that you don't harm yourself with it. You are in for some hurt with Harding and Reimer being counted on for stats in goal.

I doubt you will find anyone that will give you goaltending for D guys.
