Datsyuk in KHL All Star Game as well

chesnokov is reporting that datsyuks name has been added to the allstar game roster and the league is saying he will play for sure

i had seen rumors the other day suggesting the other day that datsyuk hadnt come home either and then i saw other things saying he was already on the way etc

if he is playing in the game i think its kinda cowardly that he kinda hid it this whole time leaving kovalchuk out on the firing line all by himself

Ken Holland has given Datsyuk a permission to play in the KHL All-Stars game. Datsyuk hasn't hidden anything.

then its a failure of the reporters because nothing has been said about this on the twitter machine unlike kovalchuk

i wounder if datsyuk was given permission why was his name not on the team list until today

Datsyuk was named to the roster already in December. He was probably took out after the lockout ended but Red Wings then gave him the permission to play in the game and he was added back to the roster.

The Kovalchuk thing has been overblown anyways. These guys are playing the All Star game and the coming back to get on with their real career. Meda making a stink where there is none as usual.

i understand that however his name wasnt added until today while kovalchuks was added a couple of days ago

it just seems curious that one guy is put out there to get shit all over and vilified and the other quitely gets added and not a thing is said about it

you get a guy like kovalchuk who character has been called into question in the past and a guy like datsyuk who basically has an impeachable character and then they assassinate the one guy and fail to bring up the fact the other is basically doing the same thing

i just think its horrible on the part of the so called hockey media

Kovy hasn't asked anyone's permission while Datsyuk has gotten the permission from his NHL-team. Big difference and well explains why Ilya has been added there before Datsyuk.

Dats didn't it leave it hanging whether he was coming back or not. He wasn't elusive in his answers. There was never a question whether he was coming back. Apples and Oranges. Kovy brought this on himself.

why does kovy have to ask anyones permission the lockout technically hasnt ended as the cba hasnt been ratified

also from what i read in that article datsyuk has remained overseas the entire time

completely ignored while kovalchuk has been talked about adnaseum

Kovy can do whatever he wants but it's still completely different situation to Datsyuk.

The All-Star game will be played on Saturday while training camps open on Sunday (pending PA ratifying the CBA). If Ilya can't get on New Jersey in time and haven't notified anyone within the Devils organisation, he's techically in breach of his contract. Meanwhile Datsyuk has the permission from his team so there's no issues there.

Edit. Actually the All-Stars game is played on Sunday so Kovy definitely won't get to camp in time.
