Default Elliott or Bobrovsky as a back-up?

I already have B.Elliott as my 3rd goalie. Does it make sense to throw him back and grab S.Bobrovsky instead? My team is in my signature. Thank you.

I'm not convinced that being the starter in Columbus is better than being the Backup in St. Louis. I'm not sold on Bobrovsky either.

st. louis goalies will both regress this year. guaranteed.
and there is no guarantee that elliot starts teh same % of games as last year.
i doubt he is even close.

that said, both of your points are valid and i'm not sure where i stand on the choice. i just wanted to point out that bobrovsky likely starts.

I agree that Elliott will probably regress but he could drop a lot and still be very good to own. I just don't see Halak as a guy that can be a workhorse so he always needs a good backup behind him.

Starter over non start coming off the best historical season a goalie has ever put together. Elliot before last year could barely hold a backup job. My bet is he regresses a lot this year. Keep in mind he got a lot of starts last year because of a Halak injury. Get the Bob

While I do tend to agree about starter vs. back-up (in this case), does it concern anyone that CBJ won't be naming their starter until the end of camp?

Again, thanks for your input.

I believe they acquire Bobrovsky to give him a legit shot at the #1 job since Mason wasn't cutting it.

That being said, I would choose Elliot over him because he has a better team infront of him and he'll get the wins as a 1b starter.

Elliott will also have much better percentages.

At this time I'd keep Elliott, too much uncertainty to be risking a guy like Elliott for Bobrovsky.
